About Us

The cedar coaster business began as an inspiration down
at the wood pile. Brent had topped the cedar posts in our new
entrance fence and left the pieces for me to burn in the fireplace.

As I was moving them to the wood pile, several of the
cross-sections caught my eye. They were intricate weaves
of growth rings that were both unique and beautiful.

The idea to cut them in half inch slices and make coasters out
of the slices just snuck in the door behind the observation
of beauty, intricacy, and uniqueness.

Wood working for me is another creative outlet to go with
my poetry and gardening to relieve stress built up from a fast
paced veterinary practice and the world in general.
